We’re over the moon share that The Children’s Foundation has been chosen to take part in the Tesco Stronger Starts customer vote, a scheme that awards grants of up to £1,500 to local community projects, like the Baby Box campaign. From Monday 6 October until mid-January 2026, shoppers can back our Baby Box project with a simple blue token at the following Newcastle stores:
· Newcastle Saville Row Express (NE1 8JE)
· Barrack Road Express (NE1 4BT)
· Quayside Newcastle Express (NE1 2HF)
· Newcastle Eldon Express (NE1 5PU)
· Percy Street Express (NE1 4PW)
· Stoddard Street Express (NE2 1TB)
Why your token matters
We think every baby deserves a brilliant start. That’s what our Baby Box is all about, giving new families a little extra help, right when it matters most. Each box is thoughtfully packed with early-development goodies like a first book and playful toys, plus practical essentials to make those first days easier, including a changing mat, bath towel, and even a first toothbrush. Midwives refer families at their booking appointment, and the box arrives before baby does, so parents feel ready and supported from day one.
Each Baby Box costs around £250 to create. A Tesco Stronger Starts grant could fund around six boxes, that’s six families starting their journey feeling seen, prepared and cared for.
If you’re shopping at Tesco between Monday 6 October and mid-January 2026, please pick up a blue token and pop it in The Children’s Foundation box at participating Newcastle stores. Your vote helps us reach more families with a Baby Box that sparks smiles, builds confidence and sets little ones up for life.
How to vote
When you shop in one of the Tesco stores listed above between 6 October and mid-January 2026, pick up a blue token at checkout and pop it in The Children’s Foundation box. Every token counts towards the final grant.
